Chat with Russell Simmons about Nas and Kelis
September 30, 2009Get It Tee Tee!
September 29, 2009I don’t care what anyone says about Teyana Taylor. Look at how fucking cute and talented she is! I love her look, I think it sends a positive message to girls that you don’t have to change who you are or dress like a kinderwhore (ahem, Miley Cyrus).
Got Cake Like Erryday My Birthday
September 29, 2009So Weezy had this birthday cake with “diamonds” (read: rhinestones) on it this weekend.

Weezy has committed worse patisserie faux pas. Like the LV mess at left below, from Wayne’s Untouchables birthday party with T.I. and Jeezy. Note how much Wayne’s cake looks like a purse compared to the expertly executed LV luggage Jermaine Dupri commished for Janet’s 40th birthday. Too bad his cake artist doesn’t do tattoos.

I think this was for Tameka as in Tameka Foster, Usher’s babymoms.

VH1 Hip Hop Honors 2009 Pre-Party: J. Cole, Skyzoo, Torae
September 28, 2009Nomadic and I had the opportunity to check out this party, which also celebrated Def Jam’s 25th anniversary.
We interviewed J. Cole:
I was surprised at how down to earth he was – after maxing on some McDo we caught him leaving before Ghostface even showed up. “I didn’t even know he was hosting,” he told us. We took some goofy pics!

I hear this Cincinnati native is shacking up in the Rotten Apple, I wonder where? Another Ohio native, Kid Cudi, moved to NYC to launch his music career – not sure where he laid his head either, but I’m guessing these kids weren’t/aren’t slumming it in BK.
Skyzoo undoubtedly deserves more attention in the freshman class.
To celebrate Def Jam’s 25th, artists performed songs from the catalog, and Sky and Torae killed it as Red and Mef. I was impressed that they knew every word! Nomadic had the ill front row bird’s eye view so pop the hood and enjoy.
